Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children was born in Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father taught at school, as did her mother, who was a domestic worker. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. At a young age, McCormick enjoyed singing and dance, and she would frequently put on puppet shows for youngsters in the area. When McCormick was six years young, she took home an award in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her to ask her if she'd like to go into show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, where she was featured in a commercial on TV for Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It Up And It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids for the part of the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. She revealed in it the fact that McCormick almost lost her virginity on the stage of the show during the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years old and the actor was 19, at that moment. The incident could have occurred, she stated, but the time was never right for us.
