Her achievements as a child performer in America (which we refer to as Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy category. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents, and her family, this came naturally. Maureen joined this wonderful refuge in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based business and owned a share of "The Shamrock Rovers," famous Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons' first FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was an athlete at heart and was a fan of tough sports. This interest was combined with a natural talent for performance. This is why she was awarded almost all of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances within her own country. As she reached the age of 14 she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dream in classical theater as well as singing opera.
